We were watching the morning news, when the weatherman announced of a storm expected to arrive this week. So, we prepared our first-aid kits, and emergency equipments, checked our food supply, etc., we even got our tents from the attic. The tents will be used to cover and store our outdoor equipments that needs protection from the rain.
Another problem that needs to be resolved is our open flue. We need to have Chimney Caps installed, since water might get in and ruin our walls, heater, ceiling, stove and fireplace. And ever since, our open chimney top always causes so many problems like small animals and birds getting inside through it, and we always had to clean it up and unclog it from nests and such. You don’t want a clogged chimney top on a rainy day, because if you try lighting up a fire, all the smoke will not be released, and you’ll have a smoky and cold living room. Its better that you do the necessary preparation when expecting bad weather, the safety and convenience of your family and investments depends on it.
