How much power Manchester City holds?

Posted October 21st, 2009 by

Manchester City have spent around £120 million in this summer in the search of a well-balanced team. Finally, they have ended with some of the big names including Emmanuel Adebayor, Carlos Tevez, Roque Santa Cruz and Gareth Barry.
Former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor is going to hit his straps for City in this season. Having 3 goals in 3 league matches, he will pose as one of the major threats to the opposition anytime anywhere. Defender Kolo Toure also left Emirates for joining City squad in late-July this year.

There is a long list of freshers at the team of Manchester City this season. Plenty of City campaigns are suggesting that, the ‘getting to know each other’ period is actually of no need. However, due to that huge stream of new players, many believe that, Sky Blues need some more time to gel their players.

Gareth Barry has settled himself at the midfield. The ultimate combination of Adebayor and Tevez with Shaun Wright-Phillips, Robinho and Stephen Ireland has provided City with plenty of opportunities.
Shay Given has proven that, he is the most suitable man under the goalpost. A proper understanding between the central defensives, Toure and Joleon Lescott, is omportant for both Given and the team.

Injury can be a problem for Manchester City. Carlos Tevez has injured his knee while playing against Brazil on the Argentina national team. Tevez may need to play wisely, while his City teammate Robinho also has an ankle problem for a long time.
