Epson D92 Picture Perfect?

The Epson Stylus D92 is the entry level model of the Epson inkjet range, it is designed to be a general purpose no frills inkjet price that is cheap to buy and cheap to run in terms of the cost of the replacement printer ink cartridges. While the D92 is certainly cheap to buy it not so cheap to run as the genuine Epson D92 ink cartridges cost just as much as the printer itself does and this will leave a lot of people who buy this printer a little bit cheated. However there are compatible printer cartridges avaible which cost a lot less and represent far better value for money. The build quality of the stylus D92 is reasonable for an entry level printer but can be a little noisy when printing, the paper feed is particularly noisy but it’s not unbearable. In terms of printing performance the D92 is very good, the print quality is excellent and it can even print high quality photos. The speed in which it prints is not so great, Epson claim that the D92 is capable of 25 pages per minute which is amazingly fast for an inkjet printer, but this figure is not a very realistic one when you discover that it is when the printer is in its lowest print quality setting draft mode. The minimum quality setting most people use is “normal” and in this mode the D92 prints at a speed of 2.5 pages per minute, and this is a massive step down from 25 ppm! Overall The Stylus D92 is not a bad printer but its also not a good one either, it does do what its designed to do but also has it far share of niggles.
